October—Make Something With 2 Different Fasteners (Excluding Zipper & Buttons)
November—Sew a Gift or A Pair of Reusable Gift Bags
December—Create Something for Relaxing (Eye Mask, Fleece Pant)
January—Make a Purse or Bag with A Pocket
February—Refashion a Thrifted Garment- (Share Before & After Pictures)
March—Color Block Something
April—Sew a T-Shirt or Embellish a Ready-To Wear One
May—Fashion A Hat
June—Make Something for Summer Travel (Even If You Stay Home)
July—Sew a Pocket Type You Haven’t Used Before (Side-Seam, Welt, Kangaroo)
August—Create a Utility Item (Golf Club Cover, Laptop Case, Tool Bag)
September—Sew Something with Leaves – Or Leaf Colors
The rules are as follows:
1. Each entry must be a sewing project (knitting, crocheting, etc., are wonderful . . .just not for this challenge)!
2. Entries can be basic sewing, quilting, machine embroidery . . in other words, use the sewing machine to make the project!
3. Only entries completed in their respective months will be eligible for entering into the contest.
4. One entry per month per participant.
5. Must be a member of the Sacramento Chapter of the American Sewing Guild to participate.
6. Each month’s project picture should be sent to
sewistchallenge@asgsacramento.org
by 11:59 pm on the last day of that month.
7. Winner to be announced at our Annual Meeting in the fall. Winner need not be present at the Annual Meeting to win, but we would love to see everyone there!
8. The winner receives a $100 gift card.
