Welcome

The American Sewing Guild is an organization with chapters nationwide. The Sacramento Chapter is happy to advance sewing as an art and life skill and serves the area around Sacramento in Northern California. The Sacramento Chapter has approximately 300 members that meet in neighborhood groups for a geographical area or for a special interest. The groups meet monthly and provide programs and projects to assist each other with learning more about sewing, to create community service projects, or just to enjoy the company of others who sew. You may join the American Sewing Guild online and designate Sacramento as your chapter. As a chapter member, you may attend any of our neighborhood groups.

Sew Powerful Purse Pattern & Instructions

www.sewpowerful.org

Our Sew Powerful Purse project is doing well, we have already taken 54 purses to Yuba City for use in Zambia. Our Sustainability Group had a Sew In this past Saturday and made quite a number while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow members.

Thursday, August 1, 2024, from 1 PM to 3 PM and again from 4 PM to 6 PM, we will meet via Zoom to work on purses together. If you haven't made one and want some guidance or you've made a number of them and want to make more, join us online to sew and visit together. The Zoom link will be sent out Thursday morning so hopefully it won't get lost in the emails.

Join us! It's predicted to be about 100 that day and that's a good excuse to stay home and sew.

Magic Travel Scarf Workshop

with Gina Harrold

August 31, 2024
Registration Starts July 12, 2024

Have you ever wanted an accessory you can wear with multiple outfits?  Travel with less while adding more to your look?  Well, you might want to give the Magic Travel Scarf a try.  This scarf is great for using up your fat quarters and scraps. The hardest part of this project is deciding in what order to arrange your fabric pieces.

This will be a hands-on sewing experience where you will sew your fabric pieces together to form a scarf with a surprise feature.

Register Here By August 29, 2024!
